Board No. 1846 is an extra large End Grain (also referred to as Butcher Block) that I made in a brick wall pattern. I used Walnut (darkest), Maple (lightest), Cherry and Padauk (deep red) to create the pattern.
The board measures 18 x 14 inches and is approximately 1.5 inches thick. To make it even more awesome... this board has a juice moat cut into one side of the board like shown! So this is a perfect board for carving and serving up some delicious (messy) items. However, the other side is flat - so you can use either side of the board based on your current kitchen project. To make it easy for you to pickup and carry around, I cut finger grips into the short ends of the board.
Like all boards at The Kustom Woodshop, this board was finished by hand and is easy to maintain at home. First, we applied food-grade mineral oil and then hand-buffed the board with bees wax.
